PM-Designate Salam meets with President Sleiman at the Baabda palace

Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam met on Saturday at the Baabda Palace with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and discussed with him the formation of the new cabinet.

Following the meeting, PM-Designate Salam said that he will kick off next week deliberations with Lebanese leaders to reach a common ground over the formation of new government.

He also asserted that he will exert all possible efforts in this regard , adding that "he is keen on completing his task."

PM-Designate Salam concluded by saying that he will adopt the 8-8-8- formula, noting that "the shape of government is not important and the most important thing is its performance.

Salam was tasked with forming the new cabinet after 124 deputies nominated him during parliamentary consultations held on the 5th and 6th of April under the auspices of President Michel Sleiman.
