Abou Faour follows up on case of children whose parents were found dead in Saadnayel

Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour sent on Thursday a team from the Supreme Council for Childhood to the region of Central Bekaa to follow up on the case of the two children whose parents were found dead in their tent in the town of Saadnayel.                

The team reassured the authorities that both children are in good health and are currently living with their grandparents, pointing out that they do not hold any identification documents since they were not registered at the Personal Status Department.                      

The council’s team reassured the family, on behalf of the minister, that the Social Affairs Ministry and the Supreme Council for Childhood are ready to present all kinds of assistance, such as guaranteeing legal identification documents to the children as well as necessary psychological assistance to help them overcome their difficult situation.                

On Tuesday July 16th, a fire broke out in a tent located in the Bekaa town of Saadnayel. Two children less than three years old were rescued while the bodies of 32-year-old Bilal Y. from al-Nabi Rashad, Baalbeck and his wife 25-year-old Hanadi were found inside.                    

Preliminary investigations indicated that the couple was killed before the fire broke out.
