Security forces thwart car theft attempt

The security forces thwarted on Sunday an attempt to steal a vehicle in Daher al-Baydar, when assailants on board a BMW intercepted a vehicle with a Syrian registration plate driven by Faoud Baqdounes, forcing the driver and the passengers to come out of the car. The thieves stole the car and headed toward Shtoura road.

The security forces immediately blocked the road and chased the vehicles after they failed to stop at the checkpoint. An exchange of fire erupted between the security forces and the thieves who abandoned the vehicles and escaped to an unknown destination.
