ISF Commander al-Ayoubi launches campaign to pursue gunmen in Tripoli

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) commander in Tripoli Brig. Gen. Bassam al-Ayoubi launched on Thursday a campaign aiming at pursuing all gunmen who open fire in the air or assault Lebanese citizens in the northern city of Tripoli.

During a press conference, ISF Commander al-Ayoubi stressed that the ISF, in cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), will "strike with an iron fist" all those who open fire in Tripoli.

This as the Lebanese army conducted foot and motorized patrols in the city of Tripoli, mainly in Syria Street which separates Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh, maintaining thus security in the city.

Earlier, a group of men opened fire in the air in Bab al-Tabbaneh to celebrate the recovery of their relative, sparking panic among the city's residents.
