UCC heads to North Lebanon; collects more signatures for its petition

The Union Coordinating Committee met on Tuesday with the head of the educational district of North Lebanon Ms. Nahla Hamati, who signed along with other employees the one million signatures petition launched by the UCC.            

Members of the UCC also headed to the Social Security Center in Tripoli, where they met with the regional responsible of the North Lebanon center, Abdel Hadi Kilani.             

Following the meeting, Abdel Hadi Kilani and other employees at the center also signed the UCC’s petition in order to call for passing the wage scale at Parliament.            

The Union Coordinating Committee alongside the private and public schools association had launched an open ended strike on February 19th, 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.         

Cabinet referred the wage scale on Thursday 21st of March, 2013.
