Jumblatt: Regime turned Syria into Nazi style concentration camps

The leader of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt said that all the classic statements of condemnation and denunciation fail before the “horrific scenes broadcast by TV channels depicting the massacre of Syria’s al-Ghouta in Reef Damascus, adding that the meetings held by world powers are futile when those powers fail to take strong measures in order to change the dark reality imposed in Syria by the regime that enjoys cover from regional and international allies amid the indifference of the West."

“After witnessing the horrific scenes of Reef Damascus, one has the right to wonder about the meaning of some basic concepts breached on a daily basis including those of human rights, international law, charters, norms and conventions,” Jumblatt said.

 He added that one also has the right to question the roles played by international organizations that are supposed to apply humanitarian principles, but in fact are serving some countries’ interests. In this context, Jumblatt expressed uncertainty regarding the destiny and future of Syria, "which was turned by the regime into a large concentration camp."

“How is Syria’s situation any different from that of the Nazi camps where cold-blooded mass murders were committed?” Jumblatt asked.
