Cardinal Rai calls for the formation of a new government

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai said on Sunday that "the Christians do not stand idly by in the face of incidents," noting that they uncover their role while being committed to it.

"The officials should take initiative in finding a solution to the crisis, form a new cabinet and approve an electoral law, Rai said during a Sunday mass ceremony.

Cardinal Rai also slammed the presence of widespread weapons, calling for the election of a new President on the constitutional due date.
