Residents of Nahr al-Bared camp stage sit-in outside UNRWA offices

The residents of Nahr al-Bared refugee camps staged a sit-in outside the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Beirut, to denounce the measures taken by the organization to cancel their comprehensive emergency plan.

In this context, member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Mustafa stressed the need to keep the emergency plan effective until the refugees finish the reconstruction of the camp.

In turn, the protesters said that they will continue their sit-in until the UNRWA retracts its decision, which they deemed “unfair”.
