Patriarch Rai urges officials to work for the benefit of the Lebanese nation

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai called on Sunday for forming a cabinet and ratifying a new electoral law that serves all Lebanese factions.

Prior to his departure to Rome, Patriarch Rai called on officials to put aside their personal interests and work for the benefit of the Lebanese nation.

Patriarch Rai along with Syriac Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan, and Patriarch Nerses Bedros XIX of the Armenian Catholic Church headed on Sunday to Rome whereby they are expected to meet with Pope Francis and Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI on the sidelines of their participation in the Congregation for Eastern Churches.
