Kataeb, FPM deputies agree on reviving work of constitutional institutions

A delegation from the Kataeb party along with another from the Free Patriotic Movement held a meeting on Monday at parliament during which FPM MPs presented the Kataeb MPs a copy of the memorandum issued following their bloc's meeting last month at the al-Qalaa Monastery (Our Lady of the Fortress Monastery, Beit Mery).

Following the meeting, Kataeb MP Elie Marouni noted that deputies highlighted the importance of forming a new cabinet, adding that they discussed various other pending issues as well as the necessity of separating political work and legislative and parliamentary work.

Marouni also mentioned that they discussed with FPM deputies the necessity of holding the upcoming Presidential elections on their due time.

For his part, FPM MP Simon Abi Ramia said that the meeting aimed at reviving the work of constitutional institutions.

Abi Ramia added that the two parties agreed on the importance of disassociating Lebanon from regional crises in order to form a new cabinet and convene legislative sessions.
