Kahwaji meets Asarta to discuss Tyre incident

The NNA reported that at 7 a.m. Merkava tanks took position behind the earth berm in the surroundings of Al Abassiya. NNA added that three hummers entered the village of Al Ghajar to monitor the freed territory along the Wazzani River. The agency also reported four Israeli aircraft flying over Bint Jbeil on Monday morning at high altitude.

A meeting between the army commander Jean Kahwaji and UNIFIL commander General Alberto Asarta was held at UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura to discuss the latest developments.

A Katyusha rocket fired Sunday night from Al Qaysiya valley in the outskirts of Majdal Selem village fell in the village of Houla. The home of citizen Abdullah Mahmoud was hit, injuring his wife Nasira Ali Abbas in the leg and she was rushed to hospital. Ambulance sirens were heard inside the Palestinian occupied territories.

The Lebanese Armed Forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. LAF and UNIFIL patrols were deployed to the region.
