LF leader Geagea: Hezbollah is responsible for the emergence of Takfiris in Lebanon

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held Hezbollah and its 8 March allies responsible for the emergence of Takfiris in Lebanon due to the party’s involvement in the fighting in Syria.

In a speech at a ceremony commemorating late journalists Nasser Al-Assad and Pierre Sadek in Maarab, he said that if Hezbollah had insisted in the past on the "Army of the people of the resistance" argument under the pretext of the fight against Israel, today it is not confronting Israel, but fighting the Syrian people.

Geagea also stressed that the culture of respect is a vital necessity to preserve Lebanon's freedom, considering that the Lebanese are today in desperate need of a strong functional government that would not sacrifice them in favor of retaining the Assad regime.

On the other hand, Future Movement MP Nohad Machnouk said that it was time fight Iran’s revolutionary occupation of the Lebanese political decision and addressed Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, saying: "The children, elderly and women Syrian refugees are starving away from their land while your fighters die in fights that are forcing them to flee the country.”
