Mikhael al-Daher to LBCI: Cabinet shall take over president’s prerogatives in case of void
Former deputy Mikhael al-Daher declared Saturday that the caretaker cabinet is performing its duties but without enjoying full powers, adding that in case of a presidential void, the cabinet takes over president’s prerogatives.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, al-Daher stressed that the cabinet will remain in power until the issuance of a decree that will put in effect its resignation.

On another note, al-Daher said that a minister does not have the right to stop carrying out his duties, noting that such a step is not included in the Constitution.

He explained that the minister must present his resignation from the caretaker cabinet to the president and the prime minister who will issue a decree approving the resignation.
