President Sleiman meets PM-Designate Salam, calls for swift formation of new cabinet

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman held a meeting on Saturday at the Baabda Presidential Palace with Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam whereby he discussed the local developments.

Following the meeting, PM-Designate Salam left without making any statement.

Sources told LBCI that Sleiman is calling for the formation of a new government before the 25th of January, according to any formula Salam deems appropriate.

This as, sources close the March 8 coalition told LBCI that a tacit agreement between the Shiite team and the National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt aims to reject any cabinet not approved by Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah.
