LAF arrest four Syrians in Arsal for smuggling illegally into Lebanon

The Lebanese Armed Forces arrested on Friday four Syrian nationals for smuggling into Lebanon illegally.

The Lebanese army added that the Syrian nationals were arrested in the eastern Bekaa region of Arsal, noting that they arrived to Lebanon on motorbikes without  having any legal papers.

They also threatened the army with hand grenades.

Weapons and ammunition were also found in their possession.

The arrestees were transferred to the concerned authorities and investigations are underway with them.

The eastern Bekaa region of Arsal is located 12 kilometers away from the border with Syria.

The town has been used as a conduit to smuggle weapons and rebels into Syria.
