LF MP Zahra to LBCI: March 14 alliance did not accept 8-8-8 formula

Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said on Saturday that March 14 alliance as well as former Prime Minister Saad Hariri did not accept the 8-8-8 formula [8 ministers from March 8, 8 ministers from March 14, and 8 centralist ministers], adding that they only accepted to discuss the formula.

He also noted that the country is ahead of several international and regional entitlements, urging the Lebanese leaders to adhere by the Baabda Declaration and to withdraw Hezbollah weapons.

MP Zahra's comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show in which he asserted that deliberations are ongoing between the Lebanese Forces party and the Future movement over the formation of the new government, adding that March 14 alliance does not seek to "isolate" Hezbollah and Amal movement.

Lebanese leaders are sharply divided over various political issues, such as the formation of a new government, the electoral law that would govern the upcoming parliamentary elections, and the Syrian civil war.
