Sleiman-Kahwagi meet, say LAF soldiers acting in accordance with law

Lebanese Armed Forces’ Commander, Major General Jean Kahwagi met on Monday at the Baabda Presidential Palace Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and briefed him on the latest security developments at the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.         

During the meeting, both officials noted that LAF soldiers are acting in accordance with applicable laws and national interest, adding that soldiers are working to maintain Lebanon's civil peace.                   

Sleiman and Kahwagi also stressed that authorities are carrying out accurate and transparent investigations in the latest security incidents that erupted in Tripoli.      

On another note, President Sleiman held talks with caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and discussed with him the security situation in Lebanon as well as implemented measures to maintain the country’s stability.
