Agriculture Ministry sets unified milk price

The Ministry of Agriculture set a unified price for fresh milk (1,100 LBP per liter), on the basis of which prices of all dairy products will be set.

This decision was taken following a meeting between Minister of Agriculture Hussein Hajj Hassan, milk producers and factory owners, as the issue of fresh milk pricing was still raising controversy and a number of factories were manipulating the quantities used to produce yogurts and cheeses, some of them even using powder milk.

In this regard, Hajj Hassan revealed that the milk committee will be restructured, and will see its role activated for a better control of all production stages.
