Suspicious bag found in Adlieh causes traffic jam

A suspicious bag found on Thursday in Beirut's Adlieh region caused a severe traffic jam in the region after security forces diverted movement to enable the bag's inspection.

The Traffic Management Center announced that traffic was diverted from the Mathaf area towards the Justice Palace in the wake of the discovery.

The center later announced that the bag contained hardware material adding that no explosives were found.

The road near the Justice Palace was reopened in both directions and traffic returned to normal.

Thursday's suspicious bag comes amid a tense security situation in the country, as several bomb attacks have hit different regions across Lebanon since recent months.
