Cardinal Rai calls on new government to meet Lebanese people's needs

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bshara Boutros Rai hoped on Tuesday that the new Lebanese government will succeed in all its missions and will do its utmost to meet the people's needs and aspirations.

"They [the newly appointed ministers] are due to accomplish this mission and we should support them in order to honor the presidential entitlement," Cardinal Rai said upon his return to Beirut from a nearly two-week visit to the Vatican.

"The election of a new president would renew the life of the Lebanese nation," he added.
