Hezbollah issued on Friday a statement whereby it said that media outlet have been publishing reports stating that Hezbollah appointed a defense attorney for the terrorism suspect Jamal Daftardar.
“Hezbollah would like to conform that these reports are completely false, categorically denying such a thing,” the statement read.
In this regard, Acharq al-Awsat Daily had reported that the investigations conducted by the investigative judges at the military court with the detainees Naim Abbas, Sheikh Omar al-Atrash and other suspects revealed that these groups are expanding and work according to “an agenda of targets” that is being implemented in phases.
Well-informed sources told the newspaper that the group of Naim Abbas is formed of 22 persons of Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian nationalities, who confessed to bringing booby-trapped cars and suicide bombers from Syria into Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the daily added that leaked information revealed that Hezbollah has appointed a senior defense attorney to defend the suspect Jamal Daftardar, a report that raised controversy on legal and judicial levels.
