Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim elected as Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox

Church Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim was elected on Monday as the new Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All East.

He will be the 123rd Patriarch in the Apostolic Lineage of St Peter.

It is worth noting that Mor Cyril was serving as the Archbishop and Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the United States.
