Palestinian woman who fled Syria’s violence commits suicide in Sidon
Security sources reported that a Palestinian woman who fled the violence in Syria’s Yarmouk refugee camp committed suicide on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigations showed that 50-year-old Rawda Abu Hasan threw herself from the third floor of the six-story building where she lived with her family in the coastal city of Sidon.

The causes of the suicide are yet to be determined.

Almost 2 years ago, when deadly clashes erupted between supporters and opponents of the Syrian regime, thousands of Palestinians fled the Yarmouk refugee camp located in south Damascus.

It is also worth noting that the said refugee camp was targeted by several air strikes.

Activists and residents previously said that people died of starvation and hunger-related illnesses since the government imposed a blockade on the sprawling district a year ago.
