Patriarch Rai congratulates LF leader Geagea on candidacy, presidential program

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai congratulated Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on the announcement of his candidacy for the presidential elections and his presidential program.

The LF leader's media office said that Rai phone-called Geagea on Thursday and thanked him for sending a delegation to hand him a copy of his program.

On Wednesday, Geagea announced his presidential program. He is the only Lebanese leader to officially announce his candidacy for the polls which are first scheduled to be held on April 23.

President Michel Sleiman's six-year mandate ends on May 25.
