Astrologers’ forecasts and the Lebanese curse: are we doomed to believe?
On the third day of 2012, thousands of Lebanese citizens are still visiting websites to read the forecasts that dominated TV shows on New Year’s Eve.
In this regard, Psychologist Dr. Fadi Yaziji said that following the wars and economic hardships, the average Lebanese citizen is grasping for straws, hoping to grab hold of anything that gives them hope.

For his part, Archbishop Samir Mazloum said that the church refuses to acknowledge these forecasts and warns people against believing in them.

Sheikh Hussain El Khechen said, simply, that these forecasts mess with people’s minds.

From a legal perspective, lawyer Antoine Jabbour advises that a fine exists in the Penal Code to punish those practicing astrology, but he says that the sum, set decades ago, is too small and no longer valid.
