President Sleiman says ready to leave presidential palace on May 24
President Michel Sleiman said on Tuesday that he has nothing to do with the suggested plans to extend his term, which ends on May 25.

Sleiman added that he is ready to leave the presidential palace on the date set by the constitution.

This comes as media reports stated that several politicians close to Sleiman, including Youth and Sports Minister Abdel Motleb al-Hennawi suggested the extension of his mandate in a bid to avoid presidential vacuum.

However, Sleiman said that he is carrying on with the preparations to leave the presidential palace together with his advisers and assistants.

The President will hold a farewell celebration at Baabda on May 24.
