Abou Faour informed the administration of the hospital that he will refer the said dossier to the public prosecution if a similar incident were to occur.
Abou Faour also called on all hospitals to fully implement the terms of the contracts signed with the Ministry of Health, and refrain from discriminating between patients based on financial status.
On Tuesday, five-year-old cancer patient, Tala Jomaa was admitted to Tripoli’s Al-Nini hospital to undergo the treatment necessary for her condition at the expense of the Health Ministry but only after the intervention of Minister Abou Faour.
Citizens had earlier gathered outside the hospital to protest the failure on the part of the administration to admit the patient.
Jomaa was granted access to treatment following the news of her ordeal and the movement initiated by concerned citizens, which in turn raised the issue before the concerned ministry.
