Cabinet holds session under chairmanship of PM Salam
A cabinet session is underway at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

At the onset of the session, PM Salam stated that the cabinet should carry its duties in a positive atmosphere, stressing that it is a national unity government that aims at paving the way for the presidential elections.

Prior to the session, Economy and Trade Minister Alain Hakim, as well as Tourism Minister Michel Faraon stated that they will discuss the issue of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, sources reported to LBCI that the cabinet will not discuss items listed on its agenda before reaching an agreement over the mechanism it will adopt while dealing with the prerogatives of the presidency.

In the same regard, Prime Minister Tammam Salam stated that the cabinet will proceed with its work, but should first agree on the issue of the presidential powers.

It is worth noting that this is the first session that will be held with vacuum at the presidential level.
