Ahrar al-Sunna Brigade voice support to ISIL caliph

The Baalbek-based Ahrar al-Sunna Brigade voiced their support to the naming of a caliph by ISIL saying via twitter Monday that it "proudly supports Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as a Caliph for the Muslims, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's mission to restore peace and justice."

“Each Muslim has the duty to find a Caliph capable of establishing an Islamic ruling,” the Brigade said.

On Sunday and in an audio recording posted online, the extremist Islamic group declared "the caliph", or leader as chief of all Muslims.

ISIL has followed al Qaeda's hardline ideology, viewing Shi'ites as heretics, but has alienated bin Laden's successor Ayman al-Zawahri and other Islamists with its extreme violence.
