REPORT: General Prosecution hears testimony of ABL head Bassil over MP Qobeissi's complaint

General Prosecution lawyer Charbel Abou Samra held a hearing session on Wednesday for the testimony of the Head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Francois Bassil over a complaint filed against him by Liberation and Development bloc MP Hani Qobeissi.

For his part, the head of the Beirut Merchant Association Nicolas Shammas told LBCI that the summon of Francois Bassil before the General Prosecution is "a black day" in Lebanon's history.

Last April, Lawyer Ali Rahhal representing Amal Movement MP Hani Qobeissi filed a complaint against the head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon for accusing lawmakers of theft and embezzlement of public funds.
