Families of Abra detainees hold sit-in in Sidon

Families of the suspects held for attacks against the Lebanese Army in Sidon's Abra held on Friday a sit-in in front of the al-Saddiq Mosque calling for quick and fair trials.

The suspects were detained following clashes that erupted last year in Abra, south Lebanon, between the followers of a radical Sunni cleric Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir and the Lebanese army.

The attacks resulted in the death of 18 LAF soldiers and around 40 of Assir’s fighters.
