State Commissioner to Military Court files complaint against 28 people
State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr filed on Monday a complaint against 28 people including 7 terrorists who were detained on charges of belonging to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group.

The detainees aimed at implementing suicide attacks using explosive belts, car bombs, detonators and other kinds of ammunition.

They also trained suicide bombers and provided them with explosive belts in a bid to carry out terrorist attacks in residential areas in Beirut.

Accordingly, judge Saqr referred the arrestees to Military Investigation Judge of Beirut Riad Abou Ghaida.

Lebanese authorities have carried out a series of security raids on hotels in the capital and other parts of the country in recent weeks after the latest series of attacks.

The head of Lebanon's General Security service narrowly escaped a suicide bombing near the Syrian border on June 20. Three days later, an attacker blew up his car near an army checkpoint in Beirut, killing himself and a security officer.

A suicide bomber wounded three security officers in a hotel close to the Saudi Arabian embassy in the capital two days later. Shortly before that bombing, security forces detained 17 people at a Beirut hotel on suspicion of planning attacks.
