Members of Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine march in solidarity with Palestinian people

Members of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) took to the streets in Saadnayel on Monday in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Supporters of the DFLP gathered outside the cultural center in Saadnayel and headed towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) office in Taalabaya.

The protesters chanted in support of Palestine and its people, and called on all Arab citizens to exert efforts on their leaders and on the international community and the United Nations Security Council in a bid to to put an end to the violence in Gaza.

Israel says that more than 940 rockets have been launched by the Hamas movement and other factions from Gaza over the past week.

Israel has not suffered fatalities since border hostilities intensified last Tuesday, due in part to the success of its Iron Dome rocket interceptors, but the salvoes have disrupted life in major cities, paralyzed vulnerable southern towns and triggered Israeli mobilization of troops for a possible Gaza invasion if the Palestinian rockets persisted.

The Gaza Health Ministry said at least 166 Palestinians - among them about 138 civilians, including 30 children - have died during six days of warfare, and more than 1,000 wounded.
