Arsal municipality urges Lebanese state to file complaint over Syrian air strikes
The Municipality of Arsal has called on the Lebanese state to file a complaint to the United Nations against the Syrian state after Syrian warplanes have intensified air strikes on Arsal's barren range.

"Arsal is a Lebanese town. It is not a Syrian city nor it is located in the Golan Heights. Therefore, we condemn the inaction of politicians in this regard," said a statement that was issued following a meeting between the municipal council and Arsal residents.

Lebanon's northeastern town of Arsal, along with other border regions, have been under continuous shelling from the Syrian side and have bore the brunt of the cross-border attacks.

This comes as a result of the fighting taking place in Syria between Syrian government troops and rebels seeking to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.
