UCC urges Education Minister not to resort to unorthodox decisions
The Union Coordination Committee urged on Wednesday Education Minister Elias Bou Saab not to resort to any "non-academic" decision, noting that it will have “catastrophic” repercussions.

In this regard, the UCC called on Bou Saab to exert tireless efforts alongside the parliamentary blocs in order to endorse the series of ranks and salaries.

The committee also decided to hold gatherings to back the Lebanese army in its battle against terrorism and security breaches.

UCC movements will be announced during the committee’s meeting on Thursday.

Minister Elias Bou Saab held on Wednesday a press conference in which he called on the professors of the Union Coordination Committee to think about the current situation in Lebanon before taking any decision regarding the pay scale issue.

Minister Bou Saab announced that he will issue certificates for all students who sat for the official exams, adding however that he will freeze the decision for 48 hours awaiting new talks with the UCC.
