Islamic State militants kill Lebanese citizen Kayed Ghadada

Militants of the ultra-hardline al Qaeda offshoot Islamic State executed Lebanese citizen Kayed Ghadada who hails from Arsal, the state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday.

Ghadada was kidnapped from Lebanon's northeastern border town less than a week ago, the agency added.

On August 28, the Islamic State posted photos and a video online reportedly depicting a militant beheading a blindfolded hostage who was identified as Lebanese Armed Forces Sergeant Ali al-Sayyed.

Islamic State militants have also seized hundreds of Iraqi and Syrian soldiers as well as members of other insurgent groups, journalists and civilians. Some have been sold for ransom and others have been killed.
