The Lebanese Armed Forces opened fire at citizen Mohammad Ahmad al-Hujairi for failing to abide by the commands of the military men at an army checkpoint in the Wadi al-Mobyada region of Arsal, the state-run National News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The agency added that al-Hujairi was slightly injured in the leg, and managed to flee towards the mountainous region.
According to the agency, the citizen, who is wanted on the account of several arrest warrants, belongs to the Omar al-Atrash group.
Omar al-Atrash was arrested by the Lebanese Army Intelligence on January 24, on charges of being involved in recruiting suicide bombers, smuggling rigged cars and explosive belts and planning terrorist attacks that had targeted the southern suburb of Beirut and Hermel.
