Lebanon's PM Salam says Arsal captives dossier a 'thorny issue'

Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed on Monday that the Arsal captives dossier is a thorny issue, noting that the Lebanese cabinet will do its utmost to settle the case.

"Negotiations are underway but they were hampered by the attack against soldiers as well as blackmail attempts," Salam said shortly before he traveled to New York to partake in a meeting for the United Nations General Assembly.

"We are adamant on improving negotiations based on a pledge to stop the killing of kidnapped soldiers," he added.
