For his part, Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that “the most difficult test before the Church is its ability to overcome the current challenges that are threatening the presence of the Christian entity in the region.”
During the conference, Bassil noted that some religious teachings are being used as Jihadist slogans, stressing that a family cannot be attached to its land in the absence of the state’s protection.
The minister added that Lebanon is currently threatened by Israel’s racism and the hundreds of Takfiri groups and IS terrorists who are flooding into the Lebanese territories and terrorizing the Lebanese citizens.
"We won't stop calling for the withdrawal of Hezbollah fighters from Syria," Rifi said, adding "we ask the Lebanese Armed Forces to deploy across the borders and remove all illegal weapons".
