Man accused of firing at LAF turns himself in
The state-run national news Agency reported on Thursday that a suspect accused of opening fire at the Lebanese army during raids in the northern Akkar town of Bhannine turned himself in.

The agency added that Ahmed H.S., who hails from the Akkar town of al-Mhammara, turned himself in to the army intelligence in Akkar.

The Lebanese army had carried out raids in Bhannine searching for suspects who engaged in battles with it last month, arresting one suspect over the weekend.

It had arrested several others over the past few weeks. In October, the army was involved in clashes with supporters of Sheikh Khaled Hoblos in Bhannine.
