Lebanese army carries out raids, arrests eight people in northern region of Wadi Khaled
The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that the Lebanese army carried out at dawn raids along the border on the outskirts of the northern towns of Khat al-Petrol and al-Buqaia in the Wadi Khaled region.

The agency reported that eight people were arrested during the raids.

They were identified as A. Ahmed, H. Ahmed, K. Mahmoud, A. al-Ali, M. al-Ali, J. al-Ali, F. al-Ali, and H. al-Hassan.

A number of ammunition was also confiscated from their residences and investigations are ongoing with the arrestees.

The army has intensified in recent months its raids across Lebanon in search of wanted suspects and possible terrorists linked to the conflict in Syria.
