Future bloc MP al-Jarrah to LBCI: No clear international plan to fight terrorism

Member of the Future bloc MP Jamal al-Jarrah regretted Friday the failure to set up a clear international plan to fight the emerging terrorist manifestations, noting that “the Assad regime no longer exist in Syria, since it turned into a militia.”

“The international conflict is what has been prolonging Assad’s stay in power, not his strength,” he stated.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, al-Jarrah said that the position of the Future Movement has always been against the Islamic State organization and its terrorist acts, stressing that this group was formed to topple the Syrian revolution.

On another note, the deputy said that some supporters of Hezbollah criticized its intervention in the Syrian war.

Commenting on the dialogue between the Future Movement and Hezbollah, al-Jarrah said that the movement was not forced into taking part in the talks, but it participated to "rescue the country."

“We are aware that Hezbollah does not have the power to take the decision to withdraw from Syria,” he stated, adding that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon will continue its work.
