Minister Machnouq from Rabieh: It is too early to talk about progress in Hezbollah-Future dialogue
Minister of Interior Nohad Machnouq said on Wednesday that the dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement is a necessity, asserting that they will not back down on it.

“It is too early to talk about progress in dialogue between the Future Movement and Hezbollah,” he added.

Minister Machnouq’s comments were made from Rabieh after holding talks with Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, whereby he asserted that talks over Hezbollah’s weapons will be adjourned until after the election of a new president.

He concluded by announcing that he conveyed a message from MP Saad Hariri to Aoun in which he stressed the importance of dialogue among all Lebanese factions.

Dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement had kicked off on December 23 and officials from both sides have said it is making progress.

Preparatory meetings are ongoing between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces to pave the way for launching a similar dialogue between FPM leader MP Michel Aoun and LF leader Samir Geagea.
