UNIFIL’s Tenenti says situation calm in Lebanon’s South
The official spokesman for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), said “the peacekeepers have done their utmost to restore calm and stability to Lebanon’s South,” in the wake of Hezbollah’s attack on an Israeli army convoy.

“Wednesday’s incident is a blatant violation to the UN resolution 1701,” Andrea Tenenti told the state-run National News Agency on Thursday (January 29).

“The situation now is calm and stable,” he said, adding however “I cannot foresee future incidents but I could only speak about the current situation: it is stable and under control”.
