Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai expressed Monday his solidarity with the Coptic Church, hoping that prayers will put an end to the growing violence in the region.
Speaking from Rome, Rai denounced the execution of the Coptic workers in Libya by the Islamic State, deeming it “a barbaric and cowardly act, which is rejected by all religions and human beings.”
In this regard, he called on the International Community and nations of the east to cooperate in order to eradicate terrorism and extremism, which have been promoting horror and threatening moderation and stability across the world.
