Nasrallah says Islamic State’s agenda has immensely served Israel
The Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a televised speech on Monday during the Ceremony of Loyalty to the Leader Martyrs.

During his speech, Nasrallah stated that Hezbollah commemorates this occasion in a bid to keep the past connected to the present and to the future, noting that “the precious blood of Hajj Imad Moughniyeh and his son Jihad will not be wasted.”

"From this platform Jihad Imad Moughniyeh pledged allegiance to the resistance and headed to the Golan where he was martyred."

Nasrallah also voiced his support to a national strategy that aims at combating terrorism and putting an end to terrorist threats, reiterating his support to the security plan implemented in the Bekaa.

“The Lebanese government must be decisive in dealing with the threats of the Islamic State and Al-Nusra front on the eastern mountain range.”

Regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement, Nasrallah called for consolidating this understanding, stressing that Hezbollah will proceed with dialogue sessions with the Future Movement since they have yielded positive results thus far.

Hezbollah’s Nasrallah called for the resumption of internal and national efforts to end the presidential deadlock, adding that Lebanon is affected by regional conflicts more than any other time.

“We cannot isolate Lebanon from regional developments,” he said, emphasizing that the fate of Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Libya and all the countries of the Middle East are connected.

"Those who wish to cast a vote on the fate of Lebanon must have a regional presence."

On the regional level, Nasrallah noted that all world nations consider the Islamic State a threat, except for Israel since the group’s agenda had immensely served it.

In this context, Nasrallah emphasized that strategies adopted by the international coalition against the Islamic State are not enough for its elimination, asking whether the said coalition has a genuine intention to end the expansion of IS.

“We call on governments and people of all nations to unite their efforts and confront this terrorist threat.”

The Islamic State and Al-Nusra front are one and the same, only they are battling over a bigger share in power, he said, noting that “any behavior by anyone who pretends to be a Muslim but contradicts the rules of humanity is no a Muslim at all.”

“We must collaborate to confront the wave of fundamentalism and stop it from spreading,” he said, emphasizing that “those who bet on Americans are betting on an illusion.”

As for Hezbollah’s interference in the Syrian crisis, Nasrallah said: “to those calling for our withdrawal from Syria I say ‘come join us there.’”

On the execution of 21 Egyptian Copts by the Islamic State in Libya on Sunday, Nasrallah denounced in the strongest terms the “horrific and hideous crime committed by Islamic State,” offering condolences to the families of the victims.
