LF chief Geagea says regional war not directed against Christians

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said “the war taking place in the region does not target Christians but all facets of freedom, diversity, pluralism and democracy”.

In a televised speech from Brazil, Geagea said “Lebanon remains steadfast in the face of all regional conflicts,” adding however “the situation in the country as it is now is unacceptable”.

“Had we had a [new] head of state and a normal political life, our potential to remain unbowed could have been much stronger,” LF chief Geagea explained.

“The ongoing regional crises have not yet affected our country in a significant way, thanks to all Lebanese parties that believe in this country and have the will to maintain its stability,” he concluded.
