Rifi to Hezbollah: We will reject the mission Iran tasked you with in Yemen

Lebanon’s Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi said Hezbollah has turned the country into an “operations room” for the Iranian clout, noting that Saudi Arabia has assumed its duties in Yemen.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has fulfilled its duties in Yemen by standing against the Iranian clout and has proved its brotherly and friendly relation with Lebanon,” Minister Rifi said during a ceremony held Sunday by the National Liberal Party in Tripoli.

Rifi also addressed Hezbollah by saying “we will reject the mission Iran tasked you with in Syria and Yemen and we firmly reject any harm to the Lebanese-Saudi relation”.

Turning to the Lebanese northern city that had always been the scene of deadly clashes, Rifi said “Tripoli will not bow to the Iranian – Syrian axis that is seeking to change its identity as well as that of the whole country”.

For his part, National Liberal Party head Dory Chamoun said “Iran’s attempt to control the region is a failed project,” adding “whoever gets engaged with Iran in this project will realize there is no way to move forward”.
