General Kahwagi says LAF soldiers entrusted with confronting terrorism

Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi stated on Wednesday that the dossier pertaining to the case of abducted soldiers lies within the responsibilities of the army, pointing out that terrorism and Israel are “two sides of the same coin.”

In a speech delivered at the Beirut BAR Association on the occasion of the national day for army martyrs, Kahwagi emphasized that confronting terrorism is no less important than facing Israel, stressing that LAF soldiers are entrusted with confronting terrorism with all their strengths and decisiveness.

He also lauded the “close military cooperation with friendly countries and the international community's confidence in the role of the military institution,” adding that the army was able to neutralize the capabilities of terrorist groups along the country’s eastern border.
