Former Minister Baroud to LBCI: Power vacuum first affects state institutions
Former Interior Minister Ziad Baroud said on Monday that the current power vacuum has entailed significant repercussions on Lebanon’s constitutional institutions.

In an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV Show, Baroud said “no one expected that the presidential void would last one year,” noting that the country is now “plagued” on the constitutional level.

“The Christians’ main role in the process of electing a new president cannot be overlooked,” the former minister said, adding “foreign powers are still not considering the Lebanese power vacuum a major problem”.
